Everything Energy is a shop and compare website that helps customers find electricity plans from various energy providers.
Live website here.
my role
As part of this project, I primarily focused on UI design while incorporating some UX elements where necessary. My tasks involved improving the design of the Everything Energy website from a UI perspective. To achieve this, we used data analytics from tools like Hot Jar to inform the design of certain screens. Other screens were designed by utilizing existing UI design patterns to address specific design issues.
UI design checks
Carried out regular visual / sense checks with developers to make sure the UI stayed cohesive. Provided annotated feedback on designs to help developers implement changes on next iterations.
1
Searched results
Challenge:
To enable the user to easily/quickly compare between searched providers and onboard to chosen plan.
Solution:
Originally the compare function was nested within each searched result card. We needed to change this to have the compare function at top level of each card for users to access this often used functionality with ease.
2
Comparing providers
Challenge:
To present a clean solution to compare between energy providers.
Solution:
To use a responsive-grid that can manage data efficiently and can also work responsively for mobile solutions.
3
Site tour
Challenge:
To educate the user and highlight key areas of the website and how they work.
Solution:
Create an easy to flick through step guide of website key components and functions.

Feedback type 1 (Site capture)
Challenge:
Everything Energy wanted to capture two types of feedback from their website.
Solution:
Add a top level site widget to capture site feedback. This widget would be available on the home page and within searched results.
4.1
Feedback type 2 (Provider / plan capture)
For provider feedback we added a modal feature that enables users to register their email address before they continue to onboard to chosen plan.
4.2
Feedback prototypes
Created a couple of working proto-types to demo and gather feedback in our weekly client meetings.
